Even with the best of intentions, it’s a pretty tough job to implement innovation. You may spot it floating somewhere out there: an idea that could really help your team learn better or teach better, do better or share their knowledge better. Many clients started their conversations with us by asking for help to put such ideas into practice. We’ve not only helped them articulate their vision more clearly, we’ve also often helped develop initial ideas – and of course handled the implementation for them too.
We recognise the practical struggle that companies face in doing all this themselves. In the middle of a project, to pin down that concept and have it executed efficiently, with the necessary adaptations to make it work effectively for your particular organisation and context?
Yup, we get it! In 12 years, you build some long-standing relationships, so it’s been easier for managers to come back to us and say, “Help me do this differently – something like that way!” – or even to reach out in the middle of struggling with implementation with other vendors to have us quickly problem solve and fix things for them. We’ve overcome challenges like offline tracking support; we’ve created immersive videos, animations for on-the-go learning, eBooks, and mobile first learning nuggets… you name it. And that’s what the Upside Learning Solutions Showcase contains: samples of various kinds of solutions for various kinds of organisational needs.
Our carefully curated Showcase was initially an offering exclusively for our clients to help them explore the possibilities of what they could do for learning and development in their organisation. It was an opportunity to look at innovation based on the deep contextual understanding we had built about their organisation, over time. Sometimes people have wanted to try something new, sometimes to do something better or to do more with less budget.
And as we strengthened our design capability and grew in experience, as we started pushing the boundaries and going past what was “usually” done, we found ourselves taking up industry-wide challenges. We set up our R&D and made prototypes. Some of these are featured in the Showcase too. And now we’ve decided to launch the Showcase on a wider scale. (Need to know the edge that choosing one particular responsive rapid authoring tool gives you over another? We’ve done the analysis!)
We’ve already gotten into a fair number of conversations in which people have seen what’s the latest, what’s possible and had an ‘aha!’ moment for their own organisations. Now we’ve cleared our calendar to include many more. So – when are you talking to us?!
