In the fourth episode of the L&D Go Beyond podcast, Amit Garg chats with Guy Wallace, a Performance Analyst and Instructional Architect with a total experience of over 40 years.
With his approach to learning and performance analysis rooted in Geary Rummler’s approach to the same, Guy places a heavy premium on performance focus. He believes that learning should always be performance oriented and focused on what the output is going to be. That is, the learner must quickly be able to take that learning and transfer it back on to their job.
He also shares some L&D challenges that have been around since the start and still continue to exist. Some of them are: not investing in analysis/discovery, not measuring results, or not creating exclusive content. Amongst other things, Guy also talks about how the language in L&D is messy – for instance, why did training organization become learning organization.
This and much more to be learned from this podcast with Guy Wallace. Take a look.
