Looks like a season for Awards; and as a vibrant community, it was about time LearnTrends joined in. Tony Karrer, Jay Cross and George Siemens have announced the first-ever LearnTrends2009 Innovation awards. They say “The awards will recognize products, projects, and companies that represent significant innovation in Corporate/Workplace Learning and Performance.” I like the idea, a focused award for innovation.
Totally unlike most awards, there are no entry fees and the winners get a grand prize – the ability to make a short presentation at LearnTrends 2009 in November. For a small company like ours, that’s a very valuable prize. If your company is innovative, has an innovative product or project – enter the awards. We’re keen to see what innovation is occurring at the ground level and whether any of that could benefit our learners and corporate customers. Ultimately, it’ll be innovation that benefits and that’s a great win!
It goes without saying that we’re entering, but wonder about which of the three categories to enter; UpsideLMS 4.0 is definitely game as an innovative product. Perhaps we should enter all three. Tony, Jay, and George have been active and substantial contributors to the workplace learning community – as originators of ideas, encouragers of discussion, and keepers of great repositories of learning resources. Let’s encourage them by participating.
