Recently in a client meeting, I was asked to tell the USP of Upside Learning. In this world of Internet where companies from around the globe compete with each other in all geographies, barriers to starting a new company have almost vanished, and same resources may be working for multiple organizations on freelance basis. Thus the erstwhile competitive advantages have been redistributed across the globe, also any technological competitive advantage is only short lived, and no one country or company can possibly claim a unique USP. At best a company may claim to do something(s)very well, better than others but nothing else. So this is what I told the client.
We try to be at the forefront of learning technology to help our clients achieve business results.
Now I don’t think that’s really an USP.
I am sure there are others out there trying to do exactly this. Some may even be more successful than us in doing this. Critical point though is that we are guided by this strategy and our clients seem to agree that we do a fairly good job at it. As a result of which we have clients who have been with us for as long as 9 years (pretty good! considering that we are ourselves less than 11 years in business).
Please share your thoughts.
